This project is the one of our entries for the Briccole design competition 2012.
Faro comes from a desire to capture the wonderful and romantic atmosphere of venetian waterside street life into a daily use table. Just as the briccole light houses act as a marker to bring boats into harbor this table creates a social destination point where people can relax and enjoy each others company. The wooden table top is composed of eight cylindrical slices, cut to interlock into a larger surface. While the cylinder is reminiscent of the iconic shape of briccole the interlocking cuts produce a decorative pattern which carries the artistic and joyful spirit of Venice.
