Heirloom Cradle is one of our proposal to the Muji design award 2013. The topic is “ Long lasting design”.
This product is inspired by the designer’s personal experience; When I put my newborn baby in the cradle which his father/ grand father/ grand grand father all had slept in when they were born, I feel the family tree has carried on by the sweet smiling face looking back to me in that heirloom cradle.
The Heirloom Cradle can use as a portable cradle at home, during travel, it also can perform as the suitcase for the baby. After baby is grown out of the cradle age, it works as the memory box for him/ her until they get their own children and keep using the cradle for their babies. A Light Weight box can be easily turn into a cradle for the newborns. The double locks system can secure the curvy top as the cap of the memory box or the rocking feet of the cradle.
