Galaxy accessory is an adornment with a hidden surprise. In daylight the shape is modern and elegant, at night a bright LED pattern can be activated for drama and fun. Each Galaxy Accessory has two main bodies joined by a power cord hidden inside a fabric band. The two bodies can be interlocked or hanging freely, allowing you to wear Galaxy Accessory as a necklace, headband, bracelet or any other way you can imagine.The pattern is inspired by the beauty of distant galaxies to reflect the theme of “the gift from future”. Normally this pattern is invisible but can easily be turned on for a night time effect.
This project is one of the selected proposal for the “Gift from future” exhibition held by Eslite book & life x ITRI 2012. Our mission is to find out what kind of product can both enhance the advantage of the thin film LED technology provided by Industrial Technology Research Institute Taiwan and also attract the Eslite customer. The Galaxy Accessory is one of our answers, for other proposals see Skywatch and Small Centerpiece.
Our design is using the simple, unisex shapes to create a accessory that boys or girls can wear it in their own way when they go out during the night time.
Paper mock study
The pattern is inspired by the galaxy to reflect the theme of “ the gift from future”. You can not see the pattern normally but when you turn on the hidden LED the galaxy pattern shows up.
