This is the gold prize winning piece in the 2011 Franz Award ceramic design competition.
Our entry is a modern hanging spice set representing the beauty of reflections across the horizon line. The beauty of a reflection is something that people from all cultures can connect with, which was an important theme for this design. Through comparing characteristic symbols, forms and shapes from eastern and western culture we found common elements of beauty they shared. Combining these in different ways created a contemporary language both classic and representative of our modern mixed generation.
